The page is a city in northern Arizona. Antelope Canyon and Lake Powell are the two main attractions of the city. The depth of the canyon is 120 feet. The canyon has two separate regions. One is called Upper Antelope (660 feet) and another one is called Lower Antelope Canyon (1335 Feet). The canyons are beautiful but sometimes dangerous. A flash flood swept the Lower Antelope Canyon and 12 hikers killed in this flood in 1997. However, Lake Pawell is there who welcomes the visitors with its beauty. It is the perfect location for the photo shoot. Photographers choose this location for photography.
You can go there only with the licenced operator because you cannot visit there independently.

Entrance Hours

Entrance Station: Office hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Entry fee for adults is 6$ and child under 6 years of age are free. Camping is not allowed. The station is closed from November to February.

Attractions in Antelope Canyon

Upper Antelope Canyon: It is the place where the water runs through rocks. More visitors came here as compared to the Lower Antelope Canyon due to two reasons. The first reason is that you do not have any need to climb due to ground level. The second reason is the sunlight beams. The sunlight comes from the top of the canyon and in the summer season, there are two types of the light beam. In winter the light intensity is muted. This is also called as Tse Bighanilini.

Lower Antelope Canyon: These are Spiral Rock Arches and located miles from Upper Antelope Canyon. Now metal stairways are installed but before the installation, you are required to climb up on the canyon using pre-installed ladders. However, it is very difficult to climb up even using the stairways. It is very dangerous to climb up due to the slippery sand. The steps of the stairs continuously vary in size. This canyon is V-shaped naturally.

Danger
In Monsoon season, there is always a danger of flash food. The danger is only for the lower Antelope Canyon. Heavy rainfall in upper Antelope Cayon region is the main reason of flood in the lower region. An accident occurred there in 1997 tends to the death of eleven visitors.  So avoid visiting there in the rainy season.
